Master's Thesis

Ligmie is conducting clinical interviews in an attempt to evaluate her current game, Go Set.  Go Set is a game for pre-elementary children that attempts to introduce mathematics language using early set theory principals.

Current Research

Ligmie Preval is a graduate student involved with the design, testing and development of the MathmAntics™ Educational software.  Ligmie's current work is within the "Addition" environment that targets elementary children and their cognitive, spatial and mathematical thinking. MathmAntics™ is a sequence of research-based educational computer activities for teaching mathematics to preschool through third grade students.

Previous Research

Ligmie Preval was a graduate research assistant involved with Associating Real and Imaginary Agents(ARIA) using Lego Robotics.  Ligmie alongside research principals aided fourth graders with the development of Lego Mindstorm robots and furthering the programming software that intended to teach geometry. The research focuses on connecting theory from the field of cognitive science to mathematical education
